Winter Pie & Tart
Class Description
In this class you’ll learn how to create a flaky chocolate pie pastry alongside an oat tart dough, two doughs that may be used with a wide range of fillings, no matter the season.
You’ll begin with a rich, fudgy chocolate chess pie, a Southern classic known for its signature crackly sugar crust. Next, you’ll make an elegant tart filled with sour cherries and a pecan bourbon frangipane.
You’ll leave with the skills to make two very different doughs, practice using a rolling pin effectively, and gain experience making a variety of fillings, all techniques which can be applied to countless other pies and tarts at home.
