About Rachel Burcham

Employee-Owner since 2024

Rachel Burcham grew up in Kansas City (Kansas!) and has always loved nature, writing, and eating baked goods. As Editorial Coordinator at King Arthur, when she is not collaborating on a new On-Demand Class or recipe campaign, she is enjoying the journey of baking — along with the delicious end results.

A storyteller at heart, she graduated from Wichita State University with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. Performing on professional stages across the U.S. while navigating a chronic illness led her to the power of food for healing, community, and expression. Transforming her tiny apartment kitchen into her nutrition home base also transformed her life. She became an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and worked as a writer and health coach at wellness tech companies Flowly and SingFit

Now based in Vermont, Rachel started her career at King Arthur on the customer service team, where she was lucky enough to receive her first sourdough starter from a seasoned colleague. Sourdough has now become a way of life in her household, along with lacto-fermenting whatever seasonal produce she can get her hands on. (A 2% salt solution is the key — yet another reason for a kitchen scale!) Rachel then joined the Editorial department, where her organizational obsession gets to, tidily, run amok.

When she’s not packing lunches, or snacks, or more snacks, she is teaching dance at The Dance Collective and Upper Valley Aquatic Center, reading through her ever-growing pile of library books, or frolicking with her daughter in the New England outdoors.
