About Cecile Dyer
Cecile Dyer is a story-driven, bread-loving Video Producer for King Arthur Baking and an award-winning food media Producer and Director. Drawing on decades of collaboration with chefs like Paola Valez and Tavel Bristol Joseph, food brands (her favorite has been Lick Honest Ice Cream), authors, and filmmakers, Cecile combines production skill with a passion for food and deep understanding of the craft, bringing food to life on screen.
Cecile has loved food and helping people tell their stories her whole life: At 16 years old, she started working in professional kitchens (the first being Michael Timothy’s, where she learned to make a rum-soaked banana cake that she still dreams of today). Since then, she’s trained as a baker at Pies ‘n’ Thighs in New York City, along with City Bakery, and Del Posto. She also spent a summer making ice cream at Il Laboratorio del Gelato, and for a brief moment, she even ran her own banana stand at Smorgasburg, which was featured in The New York Times.
Among the collection of media Cecile has directed and co-produced is the Emmy-nominated series The Juneteenth Menu for HGTV. She has also created original content for Food Network, Epicurious, Bon Appétit, The Washington Post, HGTV, and Travel Channel. She’s partnered with major food brands like Kraft, Nabisco, Bacardi, and Starbucks, to help tell beautiful and compelling stories that resonate with real people. She designed packaging for SRSLY Chocolate and RTI bars, and illustrated veggies for Michelle Obama’s White House Garden Party tablescape.
Today, you can often find Cecile directing On-Demand classes and YouTube videos for King Arthur or working from her home in Portland, Maine. The one recipe Cecile will continue to make on repeat is Birdseed Bread, from the Big Book of Bread, which you can find in her breadbox if you pop by for a visit.
