Hi Donu, some commercial butter producers may add beta-carotene to make their butter more yellow, and butter produced from grass-fed cows tends to be more yellow because grass contains more beta-carotene than the grains commonly fed to cows in the US. Also, cultured butter tends to be darker in color. For making your homemade butter more yellow you may have to resort to natural food colors, unless you're able to find cream from grass-fed cows.
