Hi Fran. You can try replacing the chia seeds with flax seeds, if you have those on hand. If not, you could always omit them entirely and get away with it. They're the extra crunch in the bars that will keep you full longer, but they aren't critical to the structure. I never played around with pumpkin for these bars, but you can certainly try subbing it out for some of the honey or peanut butter in the recipe. These easy-to-make bars pretty much beg to be experimented with. Let me know how it turns out! -Gwen
