She later worked at Wildflour Bakery, Zingerman\u2019s Bakehouse and baking school, as well as a few smaller bakeries in Michigan and Maine. Four sons and a master\u2019s degree in creative writing distracted her from her baking career for a time, but she continued to work on perfecting her whole wheat challah, while her sons formed their own bread with blobs of challah dough accented with raisins and chocolate chips. In 2014 she jumped at the opportunity to become a Baker Specialist at King Arthur. Barb loves sharing her knowledge and experience with bakers on the Hotline, especially when it comes to sourdough. She also created the recipes for \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.kingarthurbaking.com\/recipes\/jewish-rye-bread-recipe\u0022\u003EJewish Rye\u003C\/a\u003E and \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.kingarthurbaking.com\/recipes\/artisan-sourdough-bread-made-with-a-stiff-starter-recipe\u0022\u003EArtisan Sourdough Bread made with a Stiff Starter\u003C\/a\u003E and has enjoyed the opportunity to blog about her baking adventures.
