Family Recipe

To commemorate Black History Month, King Arthur commissioned a Black independent filmmaker named Kamari Bright to create a short film inspired by the intersection of baking and being Black.

Kamari’s film, Family Recipe, is the poetic story of a grandfather passing on the tradition of baking tea cakes (one of Bright’s own secret family recipes) to his granddaughter. It’s both a personal tribute and a universal message about the special joy of recipes shared from generation to generation.
